David Grandy’s contributions to health care span more than 20 years. At Kaiser Permanente, David has worked with functional and regional leaders on projects aimed at transforming the delivery system: Reimagining Ambulatory Design, the Next Generation Medical Office Building, and the Focus Home national initiative.

Earlier in his career, David was the clinical ethics officer of a major US health system. Thereafter, he worked in various operational leadership positions, managing both clinical and non-clinical functions within a 9-hospital health system. David subsequently transitioned to a career in management consulting. Working at a global design practice, he traveled the world helping clients across various sectors drive human-centered innovation. David’s work is widely published, and he is a frequent speaker at national conferences. His teams have twice won Fast Company awards for design and innovation. In 2015, David was named to the HCD10 as one of the 10 most influential health care design professionals of the year.
