Title 1: Vice President, Strategic Information Management and Global Relationships
As Kaiser Permanente’s vice president, Strategic Information Management and Global Relationships, Vivian Tan works closely with the chief financial officer and the chairman and CEO. Vivian provides strategic leadership for the decision support function and team in defining, developing, aligning, and advancing the organization’s overall information strategy program, providing analytics and insights that allow key decision makers to get the “right information at the right time” and make the best decisions.

Additionally, Vivian manages the organization's partnership with the World Economic Forum and advises the chief strategy officer on broader international strategy.

Earlier, Vivian led the multiple transformation efforts driving Kaiser Permanente’s national strategy in partnership with all regions and functions. She identified, analyzed, and interpreted health care trends, organizational strategies, strategic investments, and Kaiser Permanente’s overall market and competitive position. Specifically, Vivian led transformation efforts such as One KP, Enterprise Information Strategy (EIS), and Vision 2025, which create alignment around a future vision that defines Kaiser Permanente’s leadership of health care and coverage into the future.

Since joining Kaiser Permanente in 2006, Vivian has served in several leadership roles, such as executive director and chief of staff to Kaiser Permanente’s chief financial officer. She was also interim vice president of Strategic Planning before assuming the job permanently in 2009. She served as vice president of Capital Planning from 2011 to 2013.

Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, in her seven years with international consulting firm Booz & Co., Vivian consulted with senior leadership at Fortune 500 firms. She also worked in policy and planning with the Telecommunications Authority of Singapore (national regulator) and was a senior officer with United Overseas Bank.

Vivian holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, and statistics from the National University of Singapore and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management.
