CJ joined Kaiser Permanente in 2006 and in that same year, assumed the role of KPIT Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance where she managed a $1.4B annual budget and held day-to-day accountability for business results related to IT accounting, control/compliance, financial reporting, and financial analysis. Prior to stepping into her current role, CJ was the Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for the Northern California market overseeing the finance strategy and revenue cycle operations for the region which serves more than 4.1 million members.
Before joining Kaiser Permanente, CJ held various finance leadership positions with Charles Schwab & Co., including Vice President of Schwab Technology Services Finance and most recently, Senior vice president of Active Trader Strategy and Integration, where she provided overall organization leadership and was responsible for $600 million in annual revenues.
CJ contributes to her local community as a member of the Alameda County Community Food Bank Board of Directors. She received her MBA from Virginia Polytechnic University and her BS in Electrical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, India.
CJ is a strong collaborator and a fierce advocate for the member. She strikes a solid balance between her fiscal role and her role in supporting operational colleagues as they size and implement strategic initiatives.

CJ Bhalla oversees the finance strategy for Kaiser Permanente Northern and Southern California. The two regions serve more than 9.2 million members. Additionally, CJ leads Kaiser Permanente’s efforts to ensure strong financial planning and strategic information are in place across the enterprise to support the Kaiser Permanente mission to provide high quality, affordable care to the communities served.
