Swenson reports directly to Kaiser Permanente’s chairman and chief executive officer, and is a member of the National Executive Team.
Swenson join Kaiser Permanente in 2012. He most recently served as senior vice president and chief strategy officer where he oversaw strategy, business development, research, and enterprise risk management. Prior to that, Swenson was the president and chief executive officer of John Muir Physician Network, and executive vice president and chief administrative officer for John Muir Health. Before that he served as chief financial officer for Blue Shield of California, and served in a number of roles with Aetna Health Plans.
Swenson has an MBA in finance from the University of California, Berkeley and Bachelor of Science degrees in economics and psychology from Duke University.
